Actual reason for very low MPS is all due to safety reasons as coal mining causes land sliding. Also abandoned mines are still burning there. It is very dangerous to run at high speed in these tracks as it may cause fire 🔥 due to surrounding coal dust as well as land engulfing. Already IR planned to shut this line (Dhanbad - Chandrapura) section permanently due to continuous fire accidents and even RB ministry accepted this . RB announced permanent closure of this section in 2018-29 but due to pressure by local politician again this line was opened. Now IR is constucting a new branch line between Dhanbad to Chandrapura via Gomoh outers to compensate this. When that line was completed, surely IR will dismantle this route.
