Later, during its return journey to New Delhi, the train ran over a herd of nilgai and was delayed by more than an hour.
Railway sources said that the express ran over at least 11 nilgai between Parjani and Kanchausi railway stations in Auraiya district when the herd came under the speeding train in the evening. On-board technical staff later conducted a thorough inspection of the train.
