You would have noticed trains passing Andheri (fast lines) at a restricted speed of 50kph even if the signal was...
more... green. This was because of permanent speed restriction of 50kph at Andheri (ADH).
Recently yard remodelling work was undertaken at ADH which included shifting of various track changing points to further north towards Jogeshwari. This remodelling task helped WR to remove the PSR of 50kph and allow trains to speed through at 100kph.
Here in this video you can see 09003 BDTS-NZM Delhi 'Super' Rajdhani Exp with 10,800hp of dual loco WAP-5 30117 + 30125 speeding through ADH and creating a dust storm.
09003 BDTS-NZM Rajdhani was recently introduced and is the fastest train between Mumbai & Delhi. This train is powered by dual locomotive which helps it attain max speed at very very less time. This train has only 3 stops:- Surat, Vadodara and Kota and runs at a max speed of 130kph.
09003 'Super' Rajdhani covers 1367km in 13hr55min at an avg speed of 98km/hr whereas
Erstwhile 12951 Mumbai Rajdhani covers 1386km in 15hr35min at an avg speed of 89km/hr.
