Visakhapatnam: Smoke causes train to make emergency halt at Simhachalam

On September 22, 2024, smoke filled the S-7 coach of the Bengaluru-Guwahati Superfast Express (12509) shortly after leaving Visakhapatnam station. There were no injuries or fire. A similar incident occurred on August 4, 2024, when a fire erupted in four unoccupied coaches of the Korba-Visakhapatnam Express (18517) at Visakhapatnam station. The fire was swiftly contained by the RPF and fire brigade, with no injuries. The train had arrived at the station at 6:30 am and was unoccupied when the fire broke out.

Issi tarah ki incident 4 August 2024 ko hui thi, jab Visakhapatnam station pe Korba-Visakhapatnam Express (18517) ke chaar khali coaches mein aag lag gayi thi. RPF aur fire brigade ne jaldi se aag ko control kar liya, koi bhi injury nahi hui. Train subah 6:30 pe station pe pahunchi thi aur aag lagne ke time khali thi.

Smoke delays Bengaluru-Guwahati express at Simhachalam railway station

On Saturday evening, passengers on the 12509 Bengaluru-Guwahati Express experienced smoke entering the S-7 coach at Simhachalam railway station. Passengers evacuated the coach, and while one passenger reported seeing fire from under the coach, it was extinguished by fire tenders. Railway officials attributed the smoke to brake binding and stated that there was no fire. Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad confirmed this, attributing the smoke to a transient brake system fault in the S-7 coach. The train was held for 20 minutes, and departed Simhachalam at 9:30 p.m. for its onward journey.
