A TRIP REPORT WITH A DIFFERENCE
=========================
hi friends, finally after a superb vacation at port blair, here is my trip report of my return journey by NICOBAR VIZAG PORT SUPERSONIC EXPRESS dated
...
more...
5th septuary 2051. i reached my station four hours earlier to be before hand for the CHECK-IN which has become mandatory owing to security reasons. the loco indeed was WNP-8,nicobar shed,my favorite NUCLEAR POWERED loco,better known as JALPARI by railfans,capable of doing a maxm speed of 420kmph. i had reserved an EXECUTIVE SALOON for me,my grandkid and my grandparents. luckily in the saloon beside me,the LOKPAL OF SOUTHERN INDIA was also travelling and it was pleasure meeting him!!
the train left bang at 8pm and immediately entered UNDERWATER,gradually acclerating.the LCD installed in each saloon showing the speed, global positioning of the train and some tv soaps/sports,as per one's choice. i made a call to my home,by the SATELLITE PHONE given to saloon passengers. the UTE(underwater ticket examiner) came with his conventional bar code scanner and checked our tickets with his laser code reader,feeded it into his tablet(connected to cris,centre of resvn info system centrally) and walked away.he also gave us his RAIL PAD(modified I-PAD) to provide the feedback,while he was scanning the ticket, a COMPULSION for the passengers travelling to provide the feedback,is what i liked the most.we were served some local cuisine and liquour as per our choice. the train was skipped the DOOBA DOOBA HALT and TAIRAAK JN at about 400kmph. nothing was visible outside,so we slept,knowing that we would reach vizag the next morning. i switched on the channel music,INFRA-RED night lamps and went off to sleep.
we were woken up by the public announcement that the train was doing 420kmph and owing to some turbulence ahead the train is being slowed. later a JET-PROPULSION would be used to MAKE-UP for the lost time. this being a usual case,i went for relaxing at the perfumed bath tub provided in saloon coach. once i returned i sat at the window seat,the great thing about this DOPUBLE LAYERED PYREX GLASS UNDERWATER TUNNEL is that though the visibility is reduced,but the movement of train is somewhat streamlined and quite fast. the train was placed in AUTO-PILOT mode was what i felt. bored of the high speed,and feeling sea sick,i went for a walk in rest of the coaches. the executive suite was as usual ornamented with flowers and perfumes,children playing SONY PLAY STATION-7,installed exclusively for executive suite passengers. the business suite,was a bit crowded, but passengers merrily sleeping and sitting around. Free intrnet access was the best thing,and so i LOGGED INTO IRI,my favourite website.My iris was scanned as this is the only method to login,apart from finger tip scanner,to protect the members account from being hacked.a whole new experience at iri than what we saw way back in 2012,multi user interface, LIVE VIDEO CONFERENCING WITH MODERATOR and REGIONAL EXPERTS and what not. especially cause,the official website has supported and incorporated this website owing to its huge popularity. i also booked my tickets for my future journey by dadar lakshadweep UF express (Ultrafast) within a few seconds at iri itself. the other new features at iri were RAILWAY JOB NOTIFICATIONS, online HOTEL BOOKING, 2 days ROAD TRIP booking by PVT CAB(of course you could choose the cab by clicking the cab amongst the options shown at iri) and places of interest in and around the destination in a very attractive format.Alas,the PNR FORUM has been removed as indian railways has done away with waiting lists,and thanks to the surplus of trains,only confirmed berths allotted now.
reached vizag outer and now the train resurfaced above water,a welcome relief,but still a good 700 kms to do. i guess two hours was the time we took to do that part and had it not been for the THIRD STOREYED platform of vskp to be engaged,we could have entered even earlier.i forgot to mention, jet propulsion,mid way helped us reach our destination 5 minutes earlier...the rule being if a train reaches 15 min late,the full refund is to be given to all passengers. but a fare of 585 us dollars is not bad for an executive saloon journey of above 2100kilometres,isnt it?
