Suburban rail: Kanaka Line’s civil work tender awarded to L&T

The Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP) has awarded the civil work contract for the Kanaka Line (Corridor 4) to L&T. This 46.88-km line will connect Heelalige to Rajanukunte via 19 stations, including Carmelaram, Benniganahalli, Channasandra and Yelahanka. corridor at Benniganahalli. The contract, worth Rs 1,040.51 crore, includes the construction of an 8.96-km elevated viaduct and a 37.92-km at-grade section. The deadline for completion is 30 months. L&T had previously been awarded the civil work contract for Corridor 2. K-RIDE plans to call tenders for Corridors 1 and 3 in 2024. They have secured a €500 million loan from KfW and are expecting another €300 million loan from the European Investment Bank by March 2024. K-RIDE also expects to receive 115.5 acres of railway land from the South Western Railway. The project was delayed due to uncertainties with the SWR approving the alignment and handing over land, as well as the KfW loan agreement. K-RIDE has completed geotechnical investigations and shifted over 30% of the signalling and telecommunications lines. The BSRP's new deadline is 2028.

Benniganahalli pe 500-meter lamba rail-cum-metro corridor bhi hoga. Ye contract, jiska value Rs 1,040.51 crore hai, 8.96-km elevated viaduct aur 37.92-km at-grade section ka construction include karta hai. Iska deadline 30 months hai. L&T ko pehle Corridor 2 ka civil work contract bhi mila tha. K-RIDE ka plan hai ki 2024 mein Corridor 1 aur 3 ke liye tenders call kiye jayenge. Unhone KfW se €500 million ka loan secure kar liya hai aur unhe March 2024 tak European Investment Bank se €300 million ka loan milne ki umeed hai. K-RIDE ko South Western Railway se 115.5 acres railway land milne ki bhi umeed hai. Project me delay SWR dwara alignment approve karne aur land handover karne, aur KfW loan agreement ke karan hua tha. K-RIDE ne geotechnical investigations complete kar liye hain aur 30% se zyada signalling and telecommunications lines ko shift kar diya hai. BSRP ka new deadline 2028 hai.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
