The project has seen significant progress, with the track laying completed on the Pithampur-Sagour section (9.3 km) and new railway stations being constructed in Sagour, Gunawad, Naugaon, Jhabua, and Pitol. The tunnel construction was particularly challenging due to the presence of hard rock and the emergence of a population in the area after the survey. The project encountered delays due to water removal and blasting permissions. A total of 1200 blasts were conducted to remove 234,000 cubic meters of rock, with 200 personnel working daily. The project has utilized 300 tons of explosives and various machines, including boomers, shotcrete machines, and telehandlers. To overcome the challenge of water ingress, 10 million liters of water were pumped out of the tunnel.

be a part of the Taranga - Ambaji - Abu Road new broad gauge line, which is currently under construction. Hadad is located just 22 km from Kheda Brahma and is connected to the state highway. This new line would provide an alternative route for travelling to Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Jaipur. It also proposes that the route connecting Kheda Brahma, Hadad, Ambaji, and Abu Road would be shorter than the current route through Palanpur-Mehsana, reducing the distance by 65 km. This request, supported by the local population, aims to extend the railway line to Ambaji and Abu Road. The proposal urges immediate budget allocation and a survey to be conducted for this project. Suresh Patel, the Taluka BJP President, and Hitendrasinh Chauhan, the Sabarkantha District Panchayat Member, were present at the occasion.
